So good! I went with my girlfriend and it's a tiny place with amazing food. We had grilled dumplings, bao and fried chicken. Super friendly, super fast, and the food was great. Special praise for the chicken: soft, tasty and spiced. We'll definitely be back!

What dishes does GiaoGiao serve?
Authentic Chinese food: handmade dumplings in 10 varieties — steamed, boiled and pan-fried — dim sum such as baozi, shaomai and wontons in broth, stir-fried noodles and rice, meat and fish main courses, cold dishes and bubble tea. Each GiaoGiao restaurant then adds dishes served there only.
Does GiaoGiao do takeaway and delivery?
Yes, both, from all three restaurants. For takeaway you order online on the site and collect in person; delivery is handled by Glovo, in Florence as in Empoli. At the counter a bubble tea or a takeaway dish is ready in minutes.
Is there a Chinese fast food place in Florence or Empoli?
At GiaoGiao you eat within minutes: you order at the counter or online, and a takeaway dish or a bubble tea is ready straight away. They are not fast food chains though, but three Chinese restaurants with dining rooms of their own — two in Florence, in the centre and in Novoli, and one in Empoli — where you can also sit down.
How much does a meal at GiaoGiao cost?
Around € 10 to € 20 per person, in all three restaurants. Handmade dumplings start at € 5, stir-fried noodles with vegetables at € 5.50, main courses are mostly between € 6 and € 9 and bubble teas start at € 5.
Is the menu the same at all three GiaoGiao restaurants?
No. The core is shared — handmade dumplings, dim sum, stir-fried noodles and rice, main courses and bubble tea — but several dishes, the available sections and some prices differ, and a few specialities are served at one restaurant only. The menu that applies is always the one you see when ordering online from that restaurant’s page.
Are there vegan dishes at GiaoGiao?
Yes, all three restaurants have a vegan section on the menu: stir-fried vegetables, tofu, soups, spring rolls and vegetable dumplings, with different dishes at each one. For allergies and intolerances, please check at the counter before ordering, as the kitchen also handles other ingredients.
Does GiaoGiao make bubble tea?
Yes, in all three restaurants, made to order cup by cup: 29 flavours from € 5, across milk teas with tapioca, fruit teas and drinkable desserts such as mango sago pomelo. The day’s assortment can differ between restaurants.
How long has GiaoGiao been in Florence?
GiaoGiao has been in Florence since 1961, when the family opened its first Chinese restaurant under the name Fior di Loto. Today there are three restaurants: two in Florence, in the centre and in Novoli, and one in Empoli.
